How we research

Every claim on Health Lab is checked against peer-reviewed research, clinical sleep guidelines, or manufacturer data where independent research isn't available — and we say so when it isn't. We link our sources at the bottom of every article rather than asking you to take our word for it.

How we test products

Where possible, our team trials products for a minimum of two weeks before writing a review. We evaluate ingredient transparency and dosing, third-party lab testing (like NSF or USP certification for supplements), verified user feedback, and price relative to comparable products. We buy most products ourselves; when a brand sends a free sample, we note it in the review.

Editorial standard A product's affiliate commission never determines its ranking. If a higher-commission product is worse than a lower-commission alternative, we say so — and link to the better one.

Affiliate disclosure

Health Lab participates in affiliate programs, which means we may earn a commission on qualifying purchases made through links on this site, at no extra cost to you. This is how we keep the content free and independent of paid sponsorships. Commission structures never influence which products we recommend or how we rank them.

Medical disclaimer

Health Lab is an independent publisher, not a medical provider. Content on this site — including articles about supplements, routines, and products — is for informational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always talk to a qualified healthcare provider before starting a new supplement, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication, or managing a health condition. Never disregard professional medical advice because of something you read here.

Who's behind Health Lab

Health Lab is an independent content team focused specifically on sleep science and sleep products. We are not a hospital, clinic, or medical practice, and individual articles are reviewed for accuracy against current research and cited clinical sources before publishing. Author and reviewer credentials are listed at the end of each article.
